Born in London in June 1969, Nikki Neave started her management career as an office junior in a theatrical agency run by Joy Jameson.
She has worked in various areas of artist management ever since. She is married with 2 sons and based in Brighton.
Her experience in theatre, comedy and music management spans twenty five years, from the early days with Joy Jameson, to a year representing actors and comedians as part of The Noel Gay Organisation and then an 8 year stint with John Reid Enterprises working closely with artists as diverse as Elton John, Billy Connolly, Barry Humphries, and multi-award winning Jazz saxophonist Courtney Pine.
In 2004 she joined Komedia Entertainment (sister company of Brighton's award winning Komedia venue) as a freelance management consultant and alongside director Richard Daws was responsible for all areas of artist development and for expanding the existing client base. During this period, the company enjoyed particular success, most notably the commissioning of Count Arthur Strong's debut BBC Radio 4 show (now in it's 3rd series) and a number of awards (Joanna Neary, Perrier nominated for Best newcomer in 2004, Count Arthur Strong awarded the Performers Jacket 2005 and Gamarjobat Best International Act Brighton Fringe 2006 & 2007.
Through her management of Courtney Pine and recent work with Komedia Entertainment she has developed ideas and worked on various projects for television (BBC2, BBC4, CH4), Radio (BBC R2,R3,R4 and secured funding for and co-produced a children's animated film featuring Maxi Jazz (Faithless).
Some 21 years since they first met at John Reid Enterprises, she continues to manage Courtney Pine through Collaboration, the management company she set up in 1996. She also works as a freelance, project based consultant for a number of artists and organisations and recently joined forces with acclaimed record producer Andy Strange and PR guru Paul Carey to launch a new independent record label.
